One of the few things that people seem to agree about is that Philly is at a critical turning point, and our next mayor represents one of our biggest opportunities for change.

Over the coming weeks and months, the 2023 mayoral election will begin heating up.

And because of our closed primary system, it’s the primary election on May 16th 2023 that really decides the future of our city.

If you’re frustrated by the state of our city, and believe like we do that our current political leadership isn’t living up to our potential for greatness, you’re not alone.

To get involved, start with our quick 3 minute survey. Or keep reading!

We believe Philly needs a better plan.

The 10k Independents Project is a coalition of people and orgs working together to shape the landscape of our city by advocating for the existing Independent workforce, and helping 10,000 Philadelphians become sustainably self-employed over the next 10 years.

We know that real change requires unity and coordination, and we want to ensure that our next mayor is aligned with our collective interests.

Not just the interests of the small business community, but for anyone who wants Philly to do economic development differently.

At the same time, politics feels more gross and distracting than ever before.

Powerful people count on folks like you and me NOT paying attention to this next race.

National and local institutions and power brokers work to organize and deploy entire departments and budgets dedicated to influencing the future of our city. Their agendas are not friendly to our local businesses, our neighborhoods, nor our neighbors.

Nobody is looking out for us, but if we coordinate and unify, we can look out for each other and make a difference.

This won’t be your parents’ advocacy campaign.

Our agenda is transparent, and our organization is led by engaged citizens and small business owners. We aren’t here to tell you what to think, or even ask you for money.

Instead, we’re working to coordinate and unify our networks and communities to ensure our next Mayor works with us, not just for us.

We want to meet you where you are. No political wonkery, just talking to each other like the neighbors and fellow citizens we are.
